God's Wrath?

What's the point in having a Satan when there is always God's wrath to count on, and Imprecatory Prayers. Which I'm not even sure I understand this thing about imprecatory prayers. I mean, I understand praying for one's own safety and victory in an oppressive situation, but calling for the destruction of evil? If God wanted evil to exist, or to be destroyed or to be transformed into the light of the world, wouldn't he have already done so?

There is so much more I could say about this subject.

King Tut and his Monotheist Father

Well, DNA studies have finally shed light on some mysteries regarding King Tut, a.k.a. King Tutankhamun, the world's most famous mummy. His father was Akhenaten, the asshole who tried to force monotheism onto the ancient Egyptian people. Sadly, his attempt to destroy the traditional religions of his people- which failed after one generation- wouldn't be the last the world would ever see, nor would it be the last to affect the Egyptian people, as Christianity and then Islam would later come along to force themselves onto them, and finally succeed in their cultural genocide. But it was Akhenaten who tried it first.

And now, it seems, Akhenaten was likely suffering from brain Malaria, just like his son Tutankhamun, and "other members of the family"- which certainly helps to explain a lot. A brain eaten up with malaria would be a good inspiration for the madness that conceives that only "one God" exists, and tries to force that idea onto others.

Also, quite predictably, the curse upon this man and his family was clear- look at the sickly state of his son, and the terrible luck that destroyed his line. Guess the Gods didn't like lies being told about them, or their worshipers being forced away from their temples.

Everywhere monotheism goes on this planet, we see similar things. Destruction of traditional cultures, traditional wisdom, shameful repression of men and women's rights to believe and practice religion as they like, and (at least in the modern day, as in the last 1900 years) the destruction of women's rights to equality and self-determinism. You can add homosexuals to the list of people marginalized, villainized, and murdered by monotheistic cultures.

Could brain malaria have been the ultimate root of it all? They say Zoroaster came up with the first real philosophical dualistic monotheism, but Akhenaten was quite a while before Zoroaster. Could this Hamitic nonsense have been the seed that inspired the later monomaniacal behavior we saw in the ancient Hebrews, which led directly to Christian and Muslim monotheism? The seed of this disease is planted long in the fields of time and Hamitic/Semitic cultures.

At least the Egyptians cast off Akhenaten's nonsense as soon as they could, and repaired their relationships with the real Gods and Goddesses. I regret the process is taking longer in the modern West.

Militant Lunatic tortures daughter

But oh, he was arrested for being drunk in public

He and his girlfriend both need to be bound to anchors and thrown into the ocean, but I hear even that is too pleasant a way to go.

Is this a case of the destruction of a young man's mind under militaristic capitalism, or was he just born evil?

The Internet

Collective Enlightenment!
It cannot be stopped. - "The damage has been done," so to speak.

I need you guys to seriously try to grok something here. The Internet. The potential it holds, for awareness, communication, and information. If there are only a few vehicles to be regarded with optimism that for sure promise humanity a more unified and worldly co-existent and peaceful nature, believe it: The Internet is one.

Coinciding perfectly with us, it is the virtual world, the world that breaks our world, intellectually. Physically we can create horrible chemical warfare and bomb the crap out of one-another...but online we Learn, and that is something we can sleep with and cultivate. even treasure. There are no greater joys than knowledge, awareness, and human communication. To interact with others is the cure for loneliness. To grok the world is the cure for fear. And to learn is to master thyself.

Please be aware that the Internet is as far as we can tell a perfectly Earthly phenomenon. You are here, at this time!, on the Internet. (Amazing.) And you can find everything do almost anything. If you disagree, bring it up and I'll be happy to debate this with you.
One day, very soon, some powers will perceive particular awarenesses, communicative abilities, and informations as being more beneficial for wide-spread populations... Everything we have now (except much more powerful) will be resisted. Censorship, blocks, forceful out-classing, projected narrations telling stories of Greatest aware that is is inevitable.
But know well, through and through, that the damage has been done
That the Internet will be a recognized vehicle to aid one's quest for the deathless Way

There is no stopping it.
Even laziness and bullshit on the net can't stop what's already here.
There might be a time where there will be a struggle, where we might feel fear due to vulnerability and lack of privacy...but I'm confident that if we keep a strong and free spirit focused on the importance of world-awareness, lucid communication, and accessible information, our efforts will help everyone pull out and into a brighter future.
Embrace it and do not resist. Be aware there will be resistance and prepare for it the best you can. You know what to do.

Marrying the Norse Gods....

This is not necessarily a post in order to stire controvery, and I am willing to hear all sides and all perspectives when it comes to the topic, however, I do know that in some cultures, people marry deities. Even in the Catholic faith, it is considered that a nun is married to the christian god, either as Christ, or another form. Not completely clear on that aspect of it, but I'd love to hear about that as well.

In any event, my motives for choosing this community rather than some others is due to the high level of education and experience regarding Scandinavian customs within the membership here.

So, without further ado .. I've heard that some people used to marry the Norse Gods, and I'd like to know more about it. What kinds of responsibilities did the deity promise to the human? What kinds of oaths were taken on the part of the human? Is there somewhere I can find a set of the vows that were said at such a ceremony? Does anyone have any further information regarding this custom?

Richard Dawkins calls Pat Robertson "A True Christian"

In response to Pat Robertson blaming the Haiti Earthquake on God's vengeance, Richard Dawkins- the lord of all Atheists on Earth (and a bastard I really can't stand) wrote a superb editorial in which he honors Pat Robertson for his truthful devotion to the core of Christianity:

Like I said, I hate Dawkins. But this is an amusing article. I especially love how he called the ignorance of Pat Robertson "Sub-Palinesque". That's gold!

Gun Scopes and Sights for Christ- and the Assholes who make them

Asshole fundamentalist Christians sneak encoded bible verses into gun-sights and equipment sold to the US Military:

Asshole Fundamentalist Christians slink away in shame and stop adding the bible versus to their sights, and build kits to help their pissed-off clients remove the trash which violates our establishment clause and makes us look like even bigger asses than we are:
